my wife and I live on 0.15 acres in south Austin. we have been keeping Nigerian dwarf goats for milk in our backyard for nearly three years now, along with chickens and veggies, fruit trees. if you are still looking for a place to visit goats you are welcome to come by. or check out my blog (self promotion I know...) tinyfarm.509.blogspot.com to see pictures. did you ultimately get any goats? there are a few other folks around that I have run into that have backyard goat habits.maybe we can compare notes.
