This is not an interior shot of the new Pinkberry in Hillcrest. I thought it opened back in November and have been dropping strong hints about getting down there and developing a habit right quick ever since.
Sadly, it's not open yet. Something to do with permits. Boring. Mr. Pear says that by the time it does open, Pinkberry really won't be cool anymore. I say who eats frozen yogurt and fruit to be cool? I'm already cool. I'm sure it's no longer cool to eat at Pinkberry in New York or LA unless you're a tourist - or perhaps all the excitement has nothing to do with cool at all - perhaps it actually tastes as good as they say and it's not all about the happy little name and the minimalist designer furniture.
If San Diego doesn't get its own Pinkberry soon, I may have to go play tourist in LA.
We walked up the street to the Crest Cafe instead. It was okay. I suppose if I'm in the neighborhood and mini-pear is craving a hamburger, I might hit it again. Or if we have out of town guests and want to appear in the know about where to go for a lazy brunch and some people watching. Mr. Pear and I split a very greasy veggie and pesto sandwich, followed by a skimpy on the fruit peach cobbler (although maybe that was Mr. Pear being uncharacteristically piggy or something - we were sharing dessert).
I want a Pinkberry!!!!! That Green Tea thingy looks gorgeous! Booo Bring them to Blightey!! ha ha ha :) x

Come on up Mrs P! We have a Pinkberry in Temecula. I haven't tried it yet, but Caleb said it's "interesting and unexpected". Tourists aren't looked down on in Temecula.

Oh! I love pesto-anything! So, we'd love you to play "in the know" and come up for a visit sometime! (and people watching, one of my fav things to do!)
